Green Planet South Sudan (GPSS) is a non-profit organization established in 2018 with a mission to progress the health of the environment. The organization is directed by a Board of Directors and headquartered in Juba, South Sudan.
GPSS responds to the serious pressure placed on forests by charcoal production, construction needs, fuel use, and land cultivation. The organization works with communities to reduce deforestation, restore degraded areas, and protect natural resources for future generations.
GPSS works toward an inclusive and developed South Sudan through humanitarian and development actions. Its vision is to be a leading inclusive humanitarian and development organization in South Sudan.
The organization has set a major 2030 goal: to plant at least 100,000 trees each year while building community ownership of restored forests and protected sites.
GPSS focuses on climate change mitigation, environmental conservation, agriculture and livelihoods, public health, WASH, plastic waste management, and community risk communication. Its work includes farmer empowerment, school climate awareness, women livelihood training, and waste-management campaigns in communities such as Rock City.

GPSS partners with communities, leaders, schools, farmers, women, and public institutions to restore the environment and improve livelihoods in South Sudan.
